Alice TX Shooting – In a harrowing incident that has gripped the community of Alice, Texas, gunfire erupted in the early hours of November 6, 2024, leaving one woman dead and two men critically injured.
The shooting took place around 1:00 a.m. on the 1000 block of North Wright Street, prompting an immediate response from the Alice Police Department after a series of 911 calls reported shots fired in the residential area.
As officers arrived at the scene, they encountered a chilling sight. A male victim lay face down in the driveway, unresponsive. Inside the home, officers discovered two additional victims, a man and a woman, both suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical teams promptly transported all three victims to Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas, where they were immediately placed under intensive care.
Despite the efforts of medical professionals, the female victim, identified as 29-year-old Kirsten Saenz, succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at 3:05 a.m. The two male victims, whose identities have not been publicly disclosed, remain in critical condition, receiving continuous medical attention. Their prognosis remains uncertain, adding a heavy weight to an already tragic situation.
The Alice Police Department has acted swiftly in the aftermath of the shooting, arresting 31-year-old Mario Jesus Alaniz Jr. in connection with the incident. Alaniz now faces charges of murder and two counts of aggravated assault. According to preliminary reports, Alaniz was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held at the Jim Wells County Jail.
Authorities have also named a second suspect, 28-year-old Matthew Garcia, who is reportedly from Alice, Texas. Garcia’s involvement in the incident has yet to be fully clarified, but he has been implicated in the shooting, prompting law enforcement to label him a person of interest.
An intensive search for Garcia is underway, and the Alice Police Department has issued a public appeal for assistance in locating him. Officials urge anyone with information regarding Garcia’s whereabouts to contact local law enforcement immediately. Community members are being advised to exercise caution, as authorities consider Garcia to be potentially armed and dangerous.
